Operations and Communications Director

The Runnymede Society is hiring an Operations and Communications Director to oversee our organization’s logistics and day-to-day administration as our national network of law students and lawyers continues to grow.

The Operations and Communications Director will report directly to our National Director and must share our Society’s commitment to constitutionalism, fundamental freedoms, and the rule of law. The ideal candidate will have: 1) an undergraduate degree from an accredited university; 2) demonstrated experience with CRM platforms; and 3) one to three years of experience in a similar position with a like-minded organization. Experience with membership platforms such as WildApricot is an additional asset.

The Operations and Communications Director’s time will be approximately divided between the following tasks and areas of responsibility:

1. Communications (40%)

  • Managing website and social media outlets
  • Fulfilling orders for Runnymede’s online store of merchandise and publications
  • Facilitating media appearances for the National Director
  • Curating and promoting a Continuing Legal Education archive and library
  • Overseeing the production of new content (e.g., YouTube, podcasts, etc.)

2. Member Engagement (30%)

  • Overseeing and managing Runnymede’s growing membership and donors list
  • Ensuring existing members renew their annual membership
  • Promoting membership at chapter events and in the legal profession

3. Administration (30%)

  • Conference and symposia logistics (e.g., venue, travel, etc.)
  • Student and lawyer chapter administrative support (e.g., funding requests, speaker invitations, event promotion, etc.)
  • Responding to general inquiries from our members, etc.

The successful applicant will receive a competitive salary and opportunity to receive a bonus on the completion of key performance objectives. The position may be held from anywhere in Canada, though occasional reimbursed travel may be required.
