Western Prof. Dummitt Event
Theme(s): EDI

Please join the Runnymede Society’s Western Student Chapter for a discussion about the complex relationship between Canada’s cultural history and contemporary Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) initiatives with Professor Chris Dummitt (Trent University) on Thursday, October 16th!

Professor Dummitt will examine how EDI is reshaping public understanding of Canada’s past and influencing its cultural institutions, academic elites, and the media. He will question whether EDI challenges or complements traditional narratives of Canadian identity, what tensions may arise between preserving historical accuracy and promoting inclusivity, and if EDI can be harnessed to strengthen national unity or is doomed to deepen social divides.
