Theme(s): Freedom of Expression

Please join the Runnymede Society’s UNB Chapter for a thoughtful conversation on public interest litigation and free speech in the American and Canadian legal contexts with Attorney Ben Field (Institute for Justice) and Professor Nicole O’Byrne (UNB) on Tuesday, November 18th!

Mr. Field will share insights from his work on First Amendment retaliation cases and civil forfeiture practices in the United States. Together with Prof. O’Byrne, he will explore what public interest litigation means, why it matters, and what draws lawyers to take on these important cases. The discussion will also touch on notable section 2(b) cases that intersect with property rights and the lessons they hold for future advocates.
